This page explains how to establish new Outposts on and increase the viability of the many worlds that Ryder visits in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Reaching 100% Viability on a planet unlocks the Terraformer Trophy / Achievement, while reaching it on all planets will unlock All Clear.
Building a new colony for Milky Way settlers in the Heleus Cluster is no easy feat, especially when many of the planets that had originally been designated as “Golden Worlds” are no longer ideal environments to sustain life.
Potential spoilers ahead.
A planet’s Viability Rating determines how suitable it is for settlement by Initiative colonists. Ryder raises this rating incrementally by completing various activities on each world. Complete these to raise the planet’s Viability Rating to 100%.
- Remnant Vaults & Monoliths
These are the most important task for Ryder to undertake when restoring a planet’s viability for habitation. Locating and activating a vault will restore 40-50% of a planet’s Viablility Rating.
- Establish Outposts
Finding a suitable place for and establishing an Initiative outpost on a planet (with the local’s permission, of course) will increase a planet’s Viability Rating by ~20%.
- Remnant Architects
Many planets that are prime for Initiative settlement are also home to a strange creature known only as an Architect. Locating and defeating these monstrous metal beasts will restore 10% of a planet’s viability.
- Side Missions
Completing secondary assignments and tasks for the inhabitants of these worlds will often increase its viability rating by ~2-5%.
- Deploy Forward Stations
Seeking out locations to have SAM drop resupply pods will increase viability by 2% per station deployed.
