This page contains the Easter Egg walkthrough for The Frozen Dawn, the sixth and final Zombies map in Call of Duty: WW2.
After days of searching, the community has finally cracked the final Call of Duty: WW2 Zombies Easter Egg, The Frozen Dawn. Thankfully though, unlike previous Easter Eggs, completing The Frozen Dawn isn’t entirely that difficult, but rather a much lengthier and more time-consuming process when compared to other entries in the series.
While The Frozen Dawn still provides its own set of challenges, there is no denying that this time around, the Easter Egg is much more simpler to complete. With the main challenges coming in the form of collecting four different upgraded Wonder Weapons and slotting them into their rightful pedestals within the Ice Caves. From there, the player can use the teleporting chamber to enter the final boss fight, which is currently being dubbed as one of the more challenging bosses in the series to defeat.
In order to unlock the Kingfall achievement, follow our complete Call of Duty: WW2 Frozen Dawn Easter Egg walkthrough below.
EditThe Complete Frozen Dawn Walkthrough
Before you can begin collecting the Wonder Weapons, you are going to need to gain access the main area of Thule.
To do this, stand on the large circular stone like button that is located at the Crash Site, just left of where you spawn. Stand on this large stone circle that is etched with strange symbols and kill approximately 5 to 7 zombies to open the pathway to the Ice Caves. Entering the Ice Caves will cost 750 points to unlock the door.
It’s now time to begin the rather lengthy process of acquiring all four of the upgraded Ravenlord Wonder Weapons. In order to obtain each of these weapons and their upgraded states, follow our complete how to guides below for each weapon.
It’s important to note though, that there is currently no particular order you have to follow. However, if you are playing as a solo player, it is highly recommended that you follow the order of the guides below.
EditHow To Acquire & Upgrade The Thulian Hammer
The Thulian Hammer is definitely one of the more challenging Wonder Weapons to obtain, as the process is not only lengthy, but it is also rather complex. Thankfully though, the hammer is quite the melee weapon and is definitely a worthy choice for killing zombies at close range.
Just as I mentioned above, the Thulian Hammer is definitely one of the first Wonder Weapons you should obtain, as there are quite a few challenging tasks that are needed to unlock the weapon.
While it can be achieved at any time, it is recommended that if you are a solo player, it should be the first Wonder Weapon you obtain.
In the first step to obtaining the Thulian Hammer, you are going to need to find a battery that is located at the Crash Site. This battery is found amongst some wreck in the middle of the area. Once found, pick up the battery and begin to make your way to the Overlook.
By now you will probably begin to understand why this particular Wonder Weapon is best completed as earlier as possible, as the sheer speed you move at, makes you an easy target for any zombies. With having to stop and start constantly, completing this Wonder Weapon during the slower, more easier zombie rounds is so much more ideal.
Once you have made it to the Overlook, place the battery in the small cauldron that is located in the center of the far wall on the bloody bridge.
You are now going to want to charge the battery. To do this, simply kill enough zombies next to the battery and it will eventually begin to glow purple once it is fully charged.
With the battery charged, you will now need to collect four stone tablets. These tablets will be used to stop the blood flowing along the pathway of the bridge.
The location of the stone tablets are as followed:
Ice Caves – The first stone tablet is located amongst the Wonder Weapon Pedestals that can be found when entering the Ice Caves. The book is specifically found on the very far right of the ledge, overlooking the volcano.
The Morgue – The second stone tablet is located on the stone pillar, directly behind the armor machine in the Morgue.
The Blood Altar -The third stone tablet is located directly across from the Kugelblitz machine.
Orrery – The final stone tablet is located just to the right of the Schnellblitz machine.
Once all of the stone tablets have been found, head back to the Overlook and start placing them into the four available spots along the wall, directly in front of the small cauldron that the battery is currently sitting in.
Once the stone tablets have been placed into the correct position, the blood flowing across the pathway will stop and reveal four glowing runes underneath where the stone tablets were just placed, just inside the hole in the center of the bridge.
Read these glowing runes from left to right and then kill one zombie at each of the runes that are present around the center of the bridge, while making sure they are in the order of the runes that are directly beneath the stone tablets. If you happen to make a mistake while inputting the correct sequence of runes, simply just start over.
When all the runes have been correctly input, the Thulian Hammer will appear. You won’t be able to pick it up just yet, as the Hammer will quickly teleport away until the next part of the challenge is completed.
Once the Hammer has disappeared, four pillars will appear. You must now complete the puzzle by shooting each of the separate cubes to rotate them into the correct alignment of a lightning bolt. You will only need to attempt two of the pillars, as the other two will automatically be completed. The completed puzzle will have the lightning bolt completely aligned in the image.
This particular puzzle is quite challenging, so thankfully a member of the community has created a rather useful puzzle solver that will help align your pillars with ease. In order to use the following puzzle solver, click here.
Here are a few quick tips you may find useful when for using the puzzle solver above:
- If the lightning bolt on one particular cube is facing forwards, this will be represented as Up in the puzzle solver.
- If the lightning bolt on the cube is facing right, it will be represented as Right.
- If the lightning bolt on the cube is facing left, it will be represented as Left.
- However, if the lightning bolt is facing towards the back, this will be represented as Down.
Once this puzzle has been completed, you will now need to find the Thulian Hammer as it has been randomly spawned in three different locations.
The three potential locations that the hammer may be spawned in, are as followed:
- Thulian Archives
- Ice Caves
You will know when you have found the hammer, as it will be glowing bright purple with lightning bolts coming off it. Before you approach the Hammer though, go prone and slowly crawl towards it until it begins to move.
Once the hammer begins to move, you will want to chase it into the Overlook and on to the bridge.
When it arrives on the bridge, it will be struck with lightning and will finally be available for you to equip.
EditUpgrading the Thulian Hammer
The first step to upgrading the Thulian Hammer is to travel to the Crash Site, where you will find a glowing purple rune on the wall, right near where you spawn.
It’s worth noting before you go any further, that this particular part of the challenge can be quite frustrating and you will likely need to attempt it multiple times before you finally succeed as it is based on a timing mechanic.
With the hammer equipped, you will want to melee this rune. You will notice that your hammer will glow purple and will be charged for a very short amount of time.
This is when you will want to run straight into the Ice Caves entrance – right where the locked door was to Thule at the very beginning – where you will find another rune symbol on the wall. Melee this rune as fast as possible. If done correctly within the set time limit, this rune will now be glowing purple.
In order to transfer the charge to the next rune, you will need to melee the rune found within the Ice Caves. Once your hammer is glowing purple again, run into the entrance of the Morgue and turn left. You’ll notice an Egyptian styled wall with a rune in the center of the mural.
In fact, the next rune will be located in the exact same place as the Blood Pool’s in the Thulian Shield walkthrough.
You will now have to transfer the purple charge one final time to the Phylactery room. This charge will need to be placed on the rune that is located directly above the door entrance to the Phylactery.
In order to get the charge to the rune, you will need to lure a zombie to stand directly beneath the door way and melee them. The zombie will then become charged and will shoot the electricity straight to the rune above the door.
Now that the final rune is charged, you will now need to lure another zombie beneath the rune, where it will then become charged.
Survive the next two rounds of zombies and the purple charge will finally return to your hammer.
It’s now time to complete the final puzzle to upgrade your Thulian Hammer. In order to complete this step, you will need to head over to the Puzzle Wall that is located in the hallway of the Blood Altar and Phylactery and melee one of the bottom tiles to activate the puzzle.
While this puzzle isn’t necessarily challenging, it is just very time consuming to complete. The aim of this puzzle is to have all Raven tiles facing forward and turned purple.
Just like the Overlook puzzle above, there is yet another simple solution to this puzzle. Thanks to @DameAndThatGame on Twitter, I have provided their image solution to the puzzle above.
Simply follow one of the four different possible combinations provided above by shooting each numbered tile in numerical order. This should hopefully give you the quickest way to solve this rather frustrating puzzle.
Once all three of the puzzles have been completed, you will now be able to enter the Stormraven Trial. In order to enter the trial, you will need to head back to the Overlook area and look towards the large volcano. It is here that you will notice a pathway that is barely visible. Carefully walk along the path until you are teleported into the Trial.
With the hammer equipped, you will need to kill all of the zombies that spawn within the small area. Many of the zombies that will appear, will have a purple shield surrounding them. You are going to want to use R1 to throw the hammer, breaking any shields the zombies may have.
After all the zombies have been killed, you will be rewarded with the upgraded Thulian Hammer, the Fist of Tal’rek.
EditHow To Acquire & Upgrade The Thulian Shield
The Thulian Shield is a unique melee weapon that has the ability to not only defend against attacks – as long as your energy meter is still active – but also provide melee assistance when needed. However, using the shield as a melee weapon isn’t really recommended. Once the Thulian Shield is upgraded, it will be called the “Roar of Sang’Ket”.
In order to obtain the Thulian Shield, you will be required to fill all three blood pools that are located in different areas of Thule. To fill the Blood Pools, you will need to kill a number of zombies near the area until a pop-up message appears stating that the Blood Pool is now full.
It should be noted though, when activating the Blood Pools, you can save a lot of time in the future by keeping note of the order in which you activated them.
The three Blood Pools are located in the following areas:
When it comes to activating the Overlook Blood Pool, you will find that it is currently not working and will need to be repaired. To repair the Blood Pool, you will need to collect the Bloodraven Stone that is located in the lower level of the Morgue, inside the room with the body filled vases. You will find the stone sitting in a corner, on top of a bunch of skeletons.
Return to the Overlook Blood Pool and repair the broken pool. Once fixed, fill the Blood Pool just like the previous ones.
Once all three Blood Pools are filled, head on over to the Blood Altar. As you begin to near the pool of blood in the center of the area, a Wustling will appear, wearing a shield upon its back.
Kill the Wustling and pick up the shield that it just dropped. Once the shield has been obtained, you can now begin the upgrading process.
EditUpgrading The Shield
The first step to upgrading the weapon is to begin charging each of the pools you just activated. To do this, you will need to lead a fully charged Corpse Eater into each of the Blood Pools, in the exact same order that you activated them.
If you don’t remember, it’s not that big of a deal, simply equip the shield and look for the Blood Pool that has a red steam coming from it. This will help indicate that this particular pool is the one that needs to be charged first.
The key to making sure this works correctly the first time, is to ensure that when leading the Corpse Eater to the Blood Pool, make sure that it is fully charged – it will gain charge by consuming other zombies and will glow once it is charged.
Once it is inside the pool, begin to damage the zombie. This will cause it to explode. If done correctly, the player equipping the shield will see a unique pattern appear above the Blood Pool.
It’s important that you remember these symbols to save time in the future.
Next you will need to find a Radio and Speaker. This item can be found when searching the Crash Site. Simply look for a large metal door leaning against a pile of wreckage on the ground, along with a low sounding radio noise.
In order to pick up the Radio and Speaker though, you will need to lure a Bomber zombie to the large metal door, so that it can be blown off upon the zombie exploding.
Pick up the Radio and Speaker when free and begin to make your way to the Blood Altar. Place the Radio and Speaker on the two separate pillars that overlook the large pool of blood.
When using the Radio and changing the different frequencies, you will notice that symbols will begin to appear on the surface of the blood. These symbols will resemble those that appeared above the Blood Pools in the earlier steps. Match the symbol that appears on the surface of the blood, with one of the symbols that appeared above the Blood Pools when using the shield.
Once matched, lure and kill one zombie in the pool of blood. Repeat these two steps for the final two remaining Blood Pools.
Finally, once the radio has been used and all of the symbols have been matched correctly, the pool of blood will begin to flash rapidly between symbols – if this doesn’t occur, you will have gotten one of the symbols wrong when attempting to match them. While this is occurring, you will want to be downed in the pool of blood while holding the shield. You will then be teleported into the trial.
Once inside the trial, kill all of the zombies that appear. A glowing ball of fire will also appear in the sky. Look at the strange glowing ball and hold L2 to block the attack until it has disappeared. You will need to complete this twice in order to have completed the trial and successfully upgraded the Thulian Shield.
EditHow To Acquire & Upgrade The Thulian Scythe
When it comes to acquiring and upgrading the Wonder Weapons, there is no denying that the Thulian Scythe is by far the easiest to obtain. When completely upgraded, the Scythe will be called the “Fang of An’heist” and you will be granted the ability to not only survive downs when the Scythe is fulled charged, but you’ll also be able to unleash a powerful lightning blast that will spread across a rather large area. This special ability will be extra helpful when dealing with a large number of zombies at once.
In order to first attain the Scythe, you will need to active the Ancient Forge in the Phylactery. You can do this by interacting with the large stone altar that is located by the Morgue door.
Once activated, the room will be completely blocked off and will begin to burn in flames. The room will stop burning after you kill approximately two waves of zombies.
The Scythe will now appear at the altar, ready to begin the upgrading process.
EditUpgrading The Scythe
To upgrade the Scythe into the Fang of An’heist, you will need to collect the spine from a Corpse Eater zombie and a piece of wire.
The wire can be found at the Crash Site, amongst the wreckage that is directly across from the teleporting chamber on the far wall. Picking it up can be quite the challenge, so you may need to spam the interact button to pick it.
In order to obtain the spine, you will need to melee a Corpse Eater with the Scythe while holding the square button (X if using an Xbox). If a Corpse Eater zombie isn’t already on the map, you can get one to appear by traveling to the Pack-A-Punch area once. If you don’t already know how to get there, check out our complete Pack-A-Punch guide here.
Once the spine and wire have been obtained, return to the Phylactery and place them on the altar that is located at the top of the stairs, overlooking the blood cauldron.
Finally, equip the Scythe and then interact with the altar to place it down. This will create a soul box.
The Scythe will now begin to charge, however, before you can pick it up, you will need to kill approximately 15-20 zombies and wait two full waves before you can pick it up.
Once it has finished charging, take the Scythe and use one of the Chamber teleporters to begin the Deathraven Trial.
You’ll then be teleported to a special room, where you’ll need to use your Scythe to kill all of the zombies. Once dead, you’ll now have complete access to your fully upgraded Scythe.
EditHow To Acquire & Upgrade The Thulian Flail
In order to obtain the Thulian Flail, you’ll first need to unlock the Cypher Room, a hidden chamber that is located within the Thulian Archives. In order to access this room, you will need to collect a number of hidden books and gears.
The two books can be found in the following locations:
- Overlook: Hidden just to the right of the Battery Cauldron.
- Passage: Hidden along the wall of the Passage, near the Teleporting Chamber.
- Morgue: Hidden on the upper level of the Morgue, along the far-left edge of the drop off to the Phylactery.
Make your way back to the Thulian Archives and find the pedestal that is currently holding a book. Once found, place the other two books you just collected on this pedestal. This will unlock the Cypher Room.
With the Cypher Room now open, the next step is to get the Orrery back up and running by repairing its gears. For this task, you will need to find three gears that are randomly hidden across the map of Thule.
- Passage: Hidden within the doorway that connects the Gearworks area to the Passage.
- Phylactery: Hidden to the right of the doorway that connects the Phylactery to the Overlook.
- Blood Altar: Hidden to the right of the mystery box, along the outer edge of the Blood Altar.
- Thulian Archives: Hidden within the newly opened Cypher Room, you’ll always find a gear piece in here
- Overlook: Hidden to the left of the staircase leading to the Phylactery from the Overlook area.
Once you have found the three cogs, place them in the Gearworks. Now that the gears have been fixed, the Orrery – located in the Thulian Archives – will now be active.
Head to the Orrery and kill enough zombies in the room until the machine has been powered on – you’ll be prompted on screen when the Orrery is working. The machine will also begin to spin when activated.
Now comes the tricky part, aligning each of the orbs on the Orrery with the image displayed on the wall of the Cypher Room. It’s important to remember though, that the Cypher is mirrored.
As you align each of the different orbs, you will hear a loud “ca’chink” noise if the orb has been placed correctly. At this stage in time, there is currently no best solution to completing the Orrery. Instead, brute forcing the red orb to a stop until you hear that successful ca’chink noise. From there, simply repeat this step until the other orbs are correctly placed.
Once the Orrery has been successfully completed, the Thulian Flail will now spawn and can be picked up.
EditUpgrading the Thulian Flail
With the ability to now travel to new locations, to start the final upgrade process, you must use the Thulian Flail to throw a Moon Orb into the room above the Orrery – just look above the Gearworks door.
Once inside the hidden room, you’ll find three Moonraven symbols on the floor. Simply stand on one of these symbols and begin killing zombies. The symbol below will then begin collecting the blood from all the zombies that you kill. Once the symbol is full, you will have noticed that a rune has appeared. Use your new abilities to activate your special vision by pressing L2 to locate different constellations across the map.
Here are the current locations for each of the known Constellations:
- Blood Altar: Located just left of the teleporting chamber.
- Crash Site: Located above the strange circular stone that is used to enter Thule.
- Overlook: Located near the Blood Pool.
- Thulian Archives: Located above the Orrery.
- Located through a hole in the wall behind the Schildblitz machine. If you’re stuck, don’t forget to check out our complete Blitz walkthrough.
You must then use the Flail to connect these stars. You should then be prompted with a message stating “Beheld the First Message”. Repeat these last three steps another two more times (entering and exiting the hidden room) until you are prompted with “Witnessed the Cosmos”.
With the final task complete, you can now enter the Moonraven Trial. To do this, simply throw a Moon Orb into the Orrery to teleport into the trial.
In order to complete the trial, all you need to do is use the Moon Orbs to teleport over the walls of fire. Once finished, you’ll have access to the upgraded Flail, Talon of Lu’roth.
EditPlace All Upgraded Wonder Weapons Into The Pedestals
Once you have acquired all four of the upgraded Wonder Weapons, it is now time to place each of the weapons into their respective pedestals. These pedestals can’t be missed and can be found at the entrance to the Ice Caves, along the ledge that overlooks the giant underground volcano.
When all weapons have been placed in the pedestals, the Ice Caves teleporting chamber – located near the entrance to the Morgue – will now open. Use this chamber to teleport into the God-King boss fight.
EditDefeating The God-King Boss
In order to defeat the God-King, those responsible for completing the Easter Egg first have provided a rather useful list of recommended class settings that you should consider before fighting the God-King.
|Ability||Recommended Mods||Starting Weapons||Grenade|
|Shellshock||Sustain Zone, Exploit Weakness, Defibrillate, Protector, Fully Loaded||9mm SAP||Sticky Bombs|
|Frontline||Vicious, Determination, Fully Loaded||9mm SAP||Sticky Bombs|
The God-King boss will have three different phases that will need to be completed.
In the first phase, the God-King will stand in the middle of the map and begin to siphon energy from the three blood pressure plates that are located around the area. You will need to combat this by shooting at the blood pressures plates. This will in return, cause him to fall to the ground. Once the God-King is on the ground, begin to shoot him.
After the God-King has been shot a number of times, the second phase will begin. During this phase, he will start to give zombies, a unique purple shield around them. While you can choose to fight these zombies off by throwing the Thulian Hammer at them to break their shield, you can also choose to ignore them if possible.
During this particular phase, you will want to ensure that you stay well hidden from the God-King by hiding behind the likes of anIce Pillar, as his new attack can instantly kill you. If the God-King is still on his knees, continue to shoot at him until he reaches the middle of the map and begins to siphon energy from the three blood pressure plates.
Once again, start shooting the pressure plates as he continues to siphon energy from them. Once he is down on his knees, shoot the God-King until he begins the third and final stage.
During the final stage, the God-King will begin to throw walls of fire at you. These waves of flames will kill you instantly if they touch you. In order to complete this phase, you will need to teleport behind the firewall and begin to shoot/melee the God-King until he stops throwing flames.
Once doing so, the God-King will move to the middle of the map and begin siphoning the blood pressure plates one final time. Shoot these pressure plates until he is on the ground.
Just as he is trying to get back up from the ground, the God-King will drag you toward him and you will be forced toward the ground. While this will lose you a vast majority of your health, the ending cutscene will also begin.
Once the cutscene has finished, you will need to attack the God-King with a few shots to finally complete The Frozen Dawn walkthrough.
