Amazon is getting a Costume Quest animated series next year, according to the studio behind the project.
The Frederator Studios is behind the project, which will debut sometime in 2018, but there’s no word yet on how closely it’ll tie in to the games. According to Amazon’s official release about the show, Costume Quest will focus on four kids “facing off against the dark forces lurking in the shadows of their sleepy town of Auburn Pines.” As the game included costumes with different powers, so too will the show feature its main characters learning to harness the abilities of each unique costume.
Zac Gorman (Uncle Grandpa) designed and wrote most of the characters in the pilot, with Pat McHale (Adventure Time) set to direct the first episode.
Digital eMation Inc. (Robotboy, Dante’s Inferno) is handling the animation. The series cast includes Rob Paulsen (Animaniacs), Frank Welker (Aladdin), Sinclair Dumont (Bonnie & Clyde), Aidan Sussman (Argo), Issac Ryan Brown (Black-ish), Allie Urrutia (The Adventures of Lucy), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Animatrix), and Sam Marin (Adventure Time). No details on the characters they’ll be voicing have been made available.
Along with producing a Costume Quest series, The Frederator Studios is also animating the recently announced Castlevania series for Netflix.
