Destiny 2 Bug Stopped Players Earning One of the Game’s Best Weapons

How many runs did you do before you realised something was amiss?

Bungie has confirmed that the exclusive reward for this week’s Nightfall is bugged, so players hoping to get their hands on the D.F.A. hand cannon are all out of luck.

Destiny 2’s Nightfall strikes aren’t dropping their exclusive rewards, Bungie confirmed on Twitter, meaning that players who have been running strikes trying to get one of the best hand canons in the game have effectively wasted hours of their time.

Bungie has said it’s “actively investigating” but the news hasn’t gone down well with members of the community, some of whom have run tens of strikes trying to get the D.F.A., sinking significant hours into the game.

There’s no news yet of what caused the issue or what Bungie will do to appease the community once it’s fixed.

The last time a bug caused an uproar was at the tail end of last year with the Prometheus Lens that was massively OP on release. The gun was nerfed, and rebalanced, and eventually was available to buy from Xur, rather than being limited to drops.

In more positive Destiny 2 news, Bungie will be sharing its plans for Year 2 content in a livestream next week on June 5. You can watch the reveal on Twitch.
