Bungie has released a Destiny first month roadmap, telling us when we’ll be seeing Xur again, taking on the new Leviathan Raid, and more.
Revealed on the Bungie Blog, the image reveals that two of the most asked-about events will begin next week. Firstly, the game’s first Raid – which allows teams of six to take on Destiny’s hardest, most esoteric challenges – will begin on Wednesday, September 13.
That will be followed by the first appearance of exotic item vendor and tentacle-faced mysteryfreak, Xur on Friday, September 15 (and will be returning every Friday for the foreseeable future).
Speaking of the mysterious Xur, we may begin to learn a little more about his bosses, The Nine in the new weekly “Trials of the Nine” events. There’s also a new event, the Faction Rally, which seems to include the first game’s Future War Cult, Dead orbit and New Monarchy groups.
Each week will also include a Nightfall event, and a Flashpoint location (Flashpoints are new quests with high-level rewards, completed by tackling public events). We’ll also see Guided Games of the Raid, part of the game’s extended Clan features.
We don’t know exactly what’s coming in October, but Bungie’s promising the return of the Iron Banner, as well as new extensions to the Raid.
We’ve enjoyed the early stages of Destiny 2 so far – giving it a tentative score of 8.7 – but it’s Bungie’s plans for the game’s future that will determine how much of an obsession it’ll become. This looks like a promising enough start.
