Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.
Today’s show: “DRAG: Self-portraits and Body Politics” is on view in the HENI Project Space at Hayward Gallery in London through Sunday, October 14. The group exhibition brings together the work of over 30 artists “who have used drag to explore or question identity, gender, class and politics, from the 1960s to the present day,” according to exhibition materials. Participating artists include Luciano Castelli, Hunter Reynolds, Victoria Sin, Ming Wong, Samuel Fosso, Michel Journiac, Robert Mapplethorpe, Ana Mendieta, Leigh Bowery, Jimmy DeSana, VALIE EXPORT, and Lynn Hershman Leeson, among others.
