Everything you need to know about the Chicago Antiques, Art & Design Show

The show which is now in its 3rd year, is this spring’s most glamorous destination for all things interior. Spanning May 16 – 19, expect four days of some of the most spectacular examples of fine art, antique furniture, vintage and antique jewelry, and decorative objects from the 17th to 20th centuries, all situated in gallery settings across the seventh floor of the Merchandise Mart.

Kicking off this four-day celebration of design is its opening night benefit on May 16, hosted for the second consecutive year by The Woman’s Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. This preview party, co-chaired by board members Stuart Dyer, Alison McNally, and Elizabeth Pruett, provides a sneak peek at this year’s offerings. Better yet, serious collectors will have the opportunity to privately shop the selection before doors open to the public the next day.

“First and foremost, guests can expect to have fun,” says Alison McNally of Winnetka, board member and one of three co-chairs of this year’s festivities. McNally says serious collectors attending the May 16 event will have the opportunity to privately shop the selection before doors open to the public the next day. The preview party also includes whimsical cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and—for VIP ticket holders—a conversation and cocktail reception with show design chairs Amanda Lindroth, interior designer and author of Island Hopping (Vendome, 2018), and Fernando Wong, internationally renowned landscape designer.

“The designer VIP event will be a real treat, with fabulous ideas to freshen up our homes and gardens with classic and unexpected inspirations,” says Pruett,

Tickets also include a complimentary show catalogue, valet parking, and re-entry into the show. However, Pruett and her co-chairs agree that the biggest treat of all is supporting the cause they love, to help The Woman’s Board reach its goal to raise $7 million over 10 years for Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s col- laborative mental health care.
