During a panel at PAX East today, Square Enix announced a new update coming to Final Fantasy XV’s Comrades multiplayer mode.
Later this year, a new update will add raid bosses and battle challenges for players for the first time.
This summer, Comrades will also be available standalone, so players won’t need to have the disc or full game installed in order to play. No other details were revealed (including whether the standalone version will be available for free or for a price), but Square Enix says it will reveal more information down the road.
Comrades launched in November of last year following a delay from its original release date of October. In addition to multiplayer support, the mode allows players to create their own custom character.
