Fortnite Dev Banning Players Who Team Up in Solo Matches

“players having fair, fun games is a top priority for us.”

Fortnite Developer Epic is taking action against players teaming up in Battle Royale’s solo game mode.

PCGamesN reports the response comes after a Reddit thread featured a video in which five players were working together in the solo mode. Comments on the thread revealed players were able to team up somewhat reliably by joining a game of Battle Royale at the same time.

This put those playing the mode as an intended free-for-all on the back foot with teams having an easy advantage over solo players.

An Epic spokesperson told PCGamesN “players having fair, fun games is a top priority for us,” emphasizing that “teaming in Solo is against the rules and will result in Epic Games taking action on accounts that participate in that behavior.” Epic will “continue to monitor games for players who break rules and play unfairly in all game modes.”

Epic also states those featured in the video have already had action taken against them and encourages players to use this online form to report others doing the same.

The developers are also working to unify controls for Fortnite across both the Battle Royale and Save the World modes, as well as bring Jetpacks into the game.
