The refund system in Fortnite is currently disabled, but will enable players to sell back purchased cosmetics for V-Bucks.
There are several apparent rules to keep in mind when requesting a refund in Fortnite:
- YOU CANNOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK
You will only receive V-Bucks as your refund, which can only be used to purcahsed in-game items.
- YOU ONLY GET 3 REFUNDS
It seems, based on the information we gleaned while the refund option was active, that each player’s account is only eligible to receive refunds on three items. Ever.
- REFUNDED ITEM MUST HAVE BEEN PURCHASED WITHIN THE LAST 30 DAYS
Items purchased before the current 30-day period are non-refundable.
- ONLY SELECT ITEMS ARE ELIGIBLE
The items that you can receive a refund for are listed below.
There are a handful of cosmetic items that players can request refunds on:
- Back Bling
- Harvesting Tools
The following items, while purchased with V-Bucks, can not be refunded:
- Battle Pass
- Battle Pass Tiers
- Event / Weekly Items (Save the World)
- Founder’s Packs
- Founder’s Pack Upgrades
- Loot Llamas (Save the World)
- Starter Packs
EditHow to Get a Refund
If you want to return a cosmetic item you’ve purchased, you can do so by flipping to the Item Shop screen of the menu, then selecting Purchase History in the lower-right corner of the screen.
You can then select the item you’d like to receive a refund for – keep in mind that you will not receive actual money from this refund, only V-Bucks.
