Season 7 of Fortnite is set to launch tomorrow and Epic has detailed the release date and time for the start of downtime.
Season 6 will conclude at 1am PT on December 6 and downtime for the 7.00 patch will begin immediately after. Patch notes detailing any new weapons, map changes, or gameplay alterations will be released by Epic as soon as downtime begins.
In past seasons, downtime between updates lasted about an hour, but updates between seasons are typically longer.
Any replays saved before the update will be rendered useless after downtime concludes. Unlockable styles for outfits from the Season 6 Battle Pass can still be unlocked in Season 7 as long as the base skins were unlocked prior to the new season.
Teases for Season 7 began earlier this week with winter themed hints. The first image released featured what is possibly an ice castle, a new snowy land formation, or a first look at a skin in the upcoming Battle Pass. Epic has followed up with two additional images, one featuring a player on a snowboard and another of a potential yeti skin.
In addition to all the icy hints and winter teases, Season 7 will launch alongside Fortnite Creative, a brand new mode allowing players to customize their own private island which can be saved and used at any time. Players who purchase the Battle Pass will have access to a private island before the universal launch on December 13.
Fortnite will get some kind of announcement at the Game Awards on December 6, but don’t expect it to be related to the launch of Season 7.
