The Fortnite The Lowdown challenges released on November 7, 2019. This set of Fortnite Week 5 challenges will task players with visiting different E.G.O. Outpost locations, finding the hidden ‘N’ location, and more. Below you’ll find a complete The Lowdown challenge guide that will walk you through this week’s Fortnite challenges.
Below is a list of all of the Fortnite The Lowdown challenges. Completing each challenge will earn you 14,000 XP and completing 8 challenges will unlock The Lowdown Loading Screen. Additionally, clicking on a challenge highlighted in blue will take you to a more detailed description of how to complete that specific challenge.
Deal damage to opponents while riding a Motorboat
This is a relatively simple challenge, as it requires players to deal damage while riding a Motorboat. If you haven’t played much of Fortnite Chapter 2, Motorboats were added to the game with the reboot of Fortnite.
This challenge will likely be easiest to complete in Duos, Squads, or Team Rumble. While you can deal damage to opponents with a Motorboat in Solos, it’s going to pretty hard, as you’d need to drive and deal damage.
Your best bet is to hop into Team Rumble with a buddy and patrol the waters, looking for enemies to shoot at while your friend drives the Motorboat.
Visit different E.G.O. Outposts
Knowing the E.G.O. Outpost locations were optional for the Week 3 challenges, but now they are a necessity.
As you can see in the map below, there are six different E.G.O. Outpost locations in Fortnite.
Thankfully, they won’t be too hard to find, as they look like a military base of sorts. Simply visit five of the six Outpost locations and you’ll be well on your way to completing this Fortnite The Lowdown challenge.
Heal teammates with a Bandage Bazooka
One of the many new changes with Fortnite Chapter 2 is the addition of the Bandage Bazooka. This is a weapon of Epic (purple) rarity that, well, shoots bandages at teammates out of a bazooka. You can find a Bandage Bazooka as floor loot, in chests, in Supply Drops, and in Llamas.
The thing to note with the Bandage Bazooka is that it takes up two spaces in your inventory, due to its size. However, it can be very useful, as its ammo replenishes itself and it can heal a teammate by 25 HPs per shot. Additionally, you can shoot it at a wall to heal yourself, however, that won’t be much help for this challenge.
Your best bet is to play naturally until you come across a Bandage Bazooka. If you don’t have any friends to play with, we suggest queuing up a game of Team Rumble, as you’ll have plenty of teammates to heal.
Eliminations at Craggy Cliffs or Salty Springs
For this Fortnite The Lowdown challenge, you’ll need to get eliminations at Craggy Cliffs or Salty Springs. In case you still don’t have all of the Named Locations unlocked yet, the map below will show you exactly where you need to go.
As you can see, Craggy Cliffs is located in the dead center of the northern border of the map. Salty Springs, on the other hand, is located near the center of the map, close to the lake area.
Reboot a teammate
For this The Lowdown challenge, you’ll need to reboot a teammate. Reboot Vans were added to Fortnite with the v8.30 update and allows players to revive a fallen teammate(s).
There are loads of Reboot Van locations in Fortnite Chapter 2. Specifically, Reboot Vans can be found in every Named Location of Fortnite Chapter 2. If you’re not familiar with what a Reboot Van looks like, simply look for a glowing van as seen in the image above. Approach the Van and interact with it to reboot a teammate.
Search the hidden ‘N’ found in the The Lowdown Loading Screen
The Fortnite hidden ‘N’ location can be found within The Lowdown Loading Screen, seen below.
A close look at the image will reveal that the hidden ‘N’ location can be found southwest of Holly Hedges. Specifically, it can be found at an E.G.O. Outpost location, as you can see in the map below.
As you approach the Outpost, head inside and up the steps to find the hidden ‘N’ location.
Once inside, walk up the stairs and you’ll find the ‘N’ sitting next to two trash cans. As long as you’ve unlocked the The Lowdown Loading Screen, you’ll be able to add the hidden letter to your collection.
