An accidental leak seems to have revealed that Hearthstone‘s next expansion will be dinosaur-themed, and titled “Lost Secrets of Un’Goro”.
Like most of Hearthstone’s expansions, Un’Goro is a reference to an aspect of World of Warcraft. Un’Goro Crater is a relatively peaceful area, home to a mixture of wandering dinosaurs, Elementals and Nintendo references.
Minella’s listed roles – primarily ‘Pteradactyl’, ‘Anklesaur’ and ‘Brontosaurus’ – suggest we can at least expect the dinosaurs to make an appearance.
Given the timing (Hearthstone’s voice lines are typically recorded towards the end of production), it seems likely that Un’Goro will be 2017’s Spring expansion, launching around the same time as last year’s Whispers of the Old Gods.
Hearthstone has just announced the details of its first Global Games, a world cup for the digital card game – here’s hoping we see some dinosaur decks at the top level.
