A photo of Henry Cavill wearing Christopher Reeve’s iconic Superman costume has been revealed by director Zack Snyder.

Cavill wore the outfit when testing for the role of Superman in Man of Steel, and Snyder shared a photo from that test on Vero (via The Hollywood Reporter). “First test with Henry… I knew right away he was my Superman,” Synder said in a message accompanying the photo.

The actual Superman costume worn by Reeve in the classic 1978 DC film went up for auction in 2015 with a starting price of $50,000.

In addition to starring as Superman in both Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Cavill will reportedly reprise his role in Zack Snyder’s next DC film, Justice League, which opens in theaters on November 17.
