The Spider-Geddon has begun.

With dozens of comic books to choose from, let us show you which are the best coming out this week. Take a look at this list spotlighting our favorite comics that we know are money-well-spent and new books that look cool and are backed by some top-tier talent.

Once you check out our picks, head to the comments to let us know what you’ll be buying this week!

Spider-Geddon #1 – $3.99

STL097466

Writers Christos Gage & Dan Slott | Artist Jorge Molina (Marvel Comics)

Dan Slott may have wrapped up his Amazing Spider-Man run earlier this year, but there’s still one major loose end left to be addressed. Whatever happened to the Inheritors? Is the multiverse truly safe from these vampiric predators? Apparently not, as the Spider-Men of dozens of universes are once again joining forces to battle this all-encompassing threat.

While the premise of this crossover sounds pretty similar to 2014’s Spider-verse, we had a lot of fun following that crazy crossover. This sequel also promises to showcase several newer incarnations of Spider-Man, including Annie-May Parker from Amazing Spider-Man: renew Your Vows and the Peter Parker of Insomniac’s Spider-Man game.

Cursed Comics Cavalcade #1 – $9.99

STL096789

Various Writers & Artists (DC Comics)

DC’s holiday anthology special are usually worth checking out, and Cursed Comics Cavalcade doesn’t look to be an exception. This 80-page issue features a variety of horror-themed stories focused on characters like Batman, Zatanna and Swamp Thing. The creative lineup also looks very promising, featuring big names like James Tynion IV, Riley Rossmo, Tim Seeley, Becky Cloonan and Mark Buckingham.

Murder Falcon #1 – $3.99

STL097724

Writer/Artist Daniel Warren Johnson (Image Comics)

We’re always excited to see Daniel Warren Johnson’s name attached to a new project. Murder Falcon is a new creator-owned book that definitely seems right up Johnson’s alley. This series stars a struggling guitarist named Jake who discovers that his riffs are the only thing that can give the mighty Murder Falcon the strength he needs to rid the world of invading monsters. We’re expecting some epic, heavy metal-worthy imagery out of this book.

From Hell: Master Edition #1 – $7.99

STL091723

Writer Alan Moore | Artist Eddie Campbell (IDW Publishing)

With Alan Moore rapidly winding down his long, storied career as a comic book writer, we’re not going to see many new works with his name attached. But the silver lining is that we can look forward to an old favorite being given new life at IDW. From Hell: Master Edition reprints the beloved graphic novel in full color for the first time. And while not all classic comics benefit from a modernized coloring, the fact that Eddie Campbell himself is the one updating the original art suggests that this will be an upgrade worth owning. And if you’ve never read Moore and Campbell’s take on the story of Jack the Ripper, now is the perfect time.
