Microsoft has just announced the Xbox Wireless Controller – Sport White Special Edition that will launch in the US and Canada on July 31 and worldwide on August 7.
This controller, which is the first in the new “Sport series” line, will retail for $69.99 USD and comes packaged with 14-day trials for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass.
The Sport White Special Edition controller features “a fresh white base color (the same white offered through Xbox Design Lab), mint accents, and grey and silver patterns. The grey rubberized diamond grip on the back of the controller is designed for comfort and will help you stay on target throughout your gaming session.”
Coinciding with the worldwide release of this new controller on August 7 is the Sport White Special Edition Xbox Pro Charging Stand. This officially-licensed charger from Controller Gear is “built with the same high-quality material as the Xbox Wireless Controller – Sport White Edition, it’s always an exact match and perfect fit.”
Each of these charging stands will retail for $49.99 and come with the stand, battery cover, rechargeable battery, and 6-foot power cord.
Microsoft is no stranger to creating unique and new controllers, as they recently released a Sea of Thieves deep purple glow-in-the-dark Xbox One controller and approved a remake of the classic “Duke” controller from the original Xbox.
Perhaps most importantly, however, is their work and announcement of the Xbox Adaptive Controller that was specifically designed for gamers with limited mobility or conditions that make gaming with a traditional controller a challenge.
