Square Enix revealed what awaits fans in Final Fantasy XIV’s upcoming Monster Hunter World crossover.
As detailed in a recent blog post, the crossover features a Trial with Monster Hunter World’s “King of the Skies,” Rathalos. Those who have completed Stormblood’s main scenario quest and are at least level 70 can take on the legendary beast.
You’ll be able to battle Rathalos in Normal and Extreme versions of “The Great Hunt” Trial. The Normal version requires a Full Party of eight to take on Rathalos, while the Extreme version allows only four players.
Special awards will be granted to those who play the new content. This includes a new armor set inspired by Rathalos, new Poogie and Palico minions, Rathalos as a new mount, and new furnishing in the form of a BBQ Spit.
The content will arrive on August 7 as part of the Patch 4.36 update, along with the next installment of The Forbidden Land Eureka, The Pagos Expedition.
The upcoming Patch 4.4 will also introduce the following new content and updates:
- New Main Scenario Quests
- New Sidequests – The Four Lords and Even Further Hildibrand Adventures
- New Dungeons – The Burn and Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum (Hard)
- New Trial – Suzaku
- New Raid – Omega: Alphascape
- Updates to the Battle Systemm jobs, PvP, Gathering and Crafting, Eureka, Grand Companies, Housing, The Gold Saucer, and more.
