Niantic has announced that more new generation 3 Pokemon are coming to Pokemon Go today.
As announced on Pokemon Go’s official site, 23 new Pokemon from the Hoenn region (originally from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire) will begin to appear in the game today. Niantic didn’t reveal specific Pokemon, but an image accompanying the announcement includes Camerupt, Aron, Cacnea, Flygon, Aggron, Solrock, Lunatone, Trapinch, and Whismur.
Today’s additional 23 Pokemon mark exactly 100 Hoenn Pokemon available in-game thus far. Five ghost-type Pokemon first arrived during Pokemon Go’s Halloween event, followed by 50 more Pokemon in December and 20 water-type Pokemon at Christmas. Niantic also added Hoenn Legendary Pokemon Groudon in mid-December and Kyogre earlier this month.
This leaves 35 additional Pokemon from generation 3 yet to be announced for Pokemon Go. From previous generations, Mew, Celebi, and Smeargle also have not yet appeared in the game.
