Power Rangers Mobile Game Gets Street Fighter Characters

Today, iPhone and Android mobile fighting game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars gets iconic characters from Capcom’s Street Fighter.

The May update adds Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, and Akuma to the game’s roster. Each character can be used for free while playing limited-time challenges.

Characters can be permanently unlocked by opening in-game Morph boxes and collecting character shards, or through a $5 in-app purchase per character.

Ryu will be able to use his iconic Shoryuken, Hadoken, and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku attacks in the game, while Chun-Li quickly takes down enemies with her Spinning Bird Kick, Kikoken, and Hyakuretsukyaku attacks.

Guile’s Sonic Boom, Flash Kick, and Sonic Cross will make an appearance, as will Akuma’s Gohadoken, Goshoryuken, and Zanku Hadoken attacks.

Those are not the only Street Fighter characters coming to Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, as Cammy will be added to the game June 1, and series villain M. Bison will join the roster June 15.

Capcom Japan oversaw the characters’ inclusion to Legacy Wars, which incorporates models, animations, combos, and abilities from Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.

Power Rangers: Legacy Wars launched in March of last year, serving as a tie-in to the live action movie. The film, which starred Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, scored a 7 in IGN’s review.
