This page covers the Panther location in RDR2, and how to get a Perfect Panther Pelt. The Panther is one of the larger animals in Red Dead Redemption 2. You’ll most likely find this animal in woods of Lemoyne. You’ll need a Perfect Panther Pelt for part of the Kit Satchel.
“Panthers are native to the remote forested wetlands on Lemoyne. As carnivores, they prey on deer, wild boards and goats. An effective way to hunt these large mammals is with either a rifle with High Velocity or Express Bullets, or a Bow with Improved Arrows. The heart and claws from the panthers can be used for crafting, and their meat can be used for cooking.”
You can specifically find the Panther woods of Lemoyne. Specifically, the woods southeast of Braithewaite Manor.

To get a perfect pelt you’ll have to find a Perfect Panther and use the right weapons to kill it.
Panthers are not afraid to rush you. They blend in well with nature. The in-game animal progress tracker suggests using a rifle with High Velocity Ammo or Express Ammo for hunting Panthers, but if you don’t have one, craft an improved arrow instead. These are a lot easier to come by.
You can craft an improved arrow with a regular arrow and one Flight Feather. Kill pretty much any bird that takes flight to get a Flight Feather.
Once you have your weapon and ammo of choice ready to go, crouch in the woods and keep your eyes peeled. Use your enhanced vision to try and spot the cat’s scent or location. Line up a head or heart shot to take the panther down in one shot.
Upon killing a pristine Panther perfectly, you’ll earn a perfect Panther pelt and Big Game Meat.
