After your previous fight with Taskmaster once you’ve taken on 5 of his challenges, whether you win or lose he’ll taunt you to complete more of his challenges if you want to face him again. In order to fight in the final round, you’ll need to complete all 16 of his challenges (the score you get on them is irrelevant, as long as they are all completed).
After completing the last challenge and swinging away, you’ll be ambushed once more for the final fight.
Video Guide: Fight Taskmaster
The Taskmaster has many different attacks he can perform when charging, which can alternate between powerful dropkicks or uppercuts that lead into a Takedown, combo attacks, sudden sword swings, or he may jump into the air before slamming into the ground for a shockwave. While you can dodge most of these types of attacks, you can’t dodge the shockwave attack, and must be ready to jump instead.
Since he can mimic your moves, he’ll also latch onto objects in the environment, and you’ll only have a few moments to either dodge or grab the object and throw it back by quickly holding L1 + R1. If he hits you, your vision will be stunned and blurred making it hard to counter his follow up attacks.
He can also aim his wrist launcher at you – which will either let him Web Strike into you, or fire another rope to keep you locked in place However, you can can dodge and time for a perfect dodge to stun him before you zip to him to fight back. Note that none of your gadgets will have any effect on him, and he’ll counter any Web Strikes or Swing Kicks attacks if he’s not already stunned. However, Suit Powers will still work, so you can use powers like Web Blossom or Arms Race to stun him and get a free opening, use Battle Focus to keep yourself healed, or Quad Damage to try and maximize damage and end the fight quickly.
When engaging in combo attacks of your own, keep an eye on him for when he starts to block before countering into his own combo attack, and quickly dodge backwards out of the way so you don’t get hit. Just like last time, the best way to win this fight is to let him make the first move, dodge at the last moment or throw objects or stun grenades back at him, and then strike him after he gets stunned. If you knock him into the air with a Swing Kick while stunned, you should be able to get a good aerial combo off without him countering.
If you try and get some distance from him, or move to a different place to fight in, watch out for the stun grenades or binding ropes he’ll throw, or he may vanish with a smoke bomb and appear nearby with a quick attack you’ll need to be ready to dodge.
If he manages to best you, he’ll show his displeasure and command you to do another Challenge before ambushing you again. If you manage to beat him, he’ll finally stop bothering you after giving some cryptic info about the people who hired him to watch you, and you’ll get a lot of XP for beating him.
