An American Icon
Out in the world, you can find a series of children’s books featuring the famed gunfighter Landon Rickets from the first Red Dead Redemption.
UFO’s have been long present in the Rockstar-verse, so it’s no surprise that they’d show up somewhere in Red Dead 2. You can find them for yourself following the steps below, or check out the video above.
Inside the cabin, you’ll find a macabre scene, an apparent cult ritual from long ago.
The “leader” of this mass suicide has a note on the table next to him – you can pick up this Mysterious Sermon and add it to your collection.
The note reads “At the second hour under the half moon…”
And wouldn’t you know it? The world of RDR2 has its own lunar cycles. Return to the cabin at 2:00 am on a night with a half moon for an otherworldy experience.Venture to the top of Mt Shan in West Elizabeth on a similar night to see another visitor in the distance.
Ghosts in RDR2
No stranger to supernatural lore, Rockstar has hidden a few spectral easter eggs around the world of Red Dead 2.
Late at night, along the tracks running between Lemoyne and New Hanover, you can see a spectral locomotive rumbling along the tracks.
It’s along the railway tracks just south of the Lemoyne / New Hanover border.
The Haunted Bayou
Out in the Bayou Nwa late at night you can sometimes see the ghostly shape of a woman floating about the swamp.
The Man-Made Mutant
You can find this scientific abomination in a dilapidated house directly west of the Van Horn Trading Post.
Climb in through the open window on the second story (above the porch) to enter this seemingly abandoned laboratory.
The Man-Made Mutant counts as one of the Points of Interest that Arthur can write about in his journal that counts towards 100% Completion.
In the Bayou Nwa region of Lemoyne, just west of Lakay, you can find a small church.
It should be here, that you find the Old Tomb sunken into the ground, that is located just off the pathway.
Not only will you discover the Old Tomb Point of Interest, but you can also find the Viking Hatchet which can be found next to the Altar, as well as the Ancient Viking Comb, that is hidden behind a stack of skulls that you can shoot and knock over.
In your travels you can find the body of a man with a note called “Letter to Bonnie.”
This note is to Bonnie MacFarlane, the rancher who rescues John Marston in the beginning of the original Red Dead Redemption. You can [[[Bonnie MacFarlane’s Lover|Bonnie MacFarlane’s Lover]] read the full text of the letter here].
To find the Braithwaites’ Secret, make your way to the Eastern side of Braithwaite Manor, where you will find several houses all located near the water.
From this area, head directly South into the shrubs, where you will begin to hear the voice of a young girl. As you continue further into the overgrown area, you will find a small white outhouse style building.
Inside this building, you will find the Braithwaites’ Secret.
Before you can find Grays’ Secret though, you must first access Caliga Hall, which is full of armed guards and witnesses, making it a tricky place to navigate. Fortunately, when done right, you can slip right into the guarded farm – preferably at night -without being seen.
You can find Grays’ Secret at the large Caliga Hall house, that is located on the Western side of the farm, in the middle of the two other buildings. Grays’ letter can be found sitting on the table, on the back porch of the house.
Face in the Cliff
Located in Grizzlies East, Ambarino, you will find the Face in the Cliff, Points of Interest.
This particular Points of Interest is a little difficult to explain due to its location, however, in order to find the Face in Cliff, you are going to want to head to the road that is located just below the ‘Grizzlies East’ writing on the map.
Once on this path, head towards the large mountain that is directly south of the ‘A’ in East. As you make your way up the rather steep mountainside, you will then find yourself in a small culdesac. It is here that you will find a very small and narrow pathway between the mountainside.
As you make your way through, turn left and especially watch your step, as the path gets increasingly narrow, so take it slow. As you round the corner, you will find a scaffolding, make your way up the ladder and you will have located the Face in Cliff Points of Interest.
In order to find the Meditating Monk, simply head to the top of the mountain that is located just below the “R” in Grizzlies on the map.
Once you reached the top of the mountain, veer off the path and head South towards the mountain’s cliff ledge. It is here, on the edge that you will find the Meditating Monk.
Located in Grizzlies West, Ambarino, you can find the remains of a large Mammoth.
Found just slightly North of where both Deadboot Creek and Spider Gorge meet, you will find the remains of a large mammoth just off the path, laying in the snow.
To find the Crashed Airship, simply travel slightly South West of the Stilt Shack in the North Western most corner of West Elizabeth.
Travel off the path, across the river, and into the trees and you will come across the Crashed Airship.
To find the Obelisk, simply head West across the Upper Montana River, between both Black Bone Forest and Owanjila lake.
Here, you will find the Obelisk on top of a hill, overlooking the pathway that leads around the Owanjila lake.
In order to find the Faces in Trees, head directly West of the Owanjila Dam – not too far from the water’s edge – and you will come across several trees that are in the shape of a circle.
Head into the center of these trees and you will find several faces carved into the tree’s trunks.
It is also worth noting that you can remove and wear the mask that the sacrificed victim is wearing.
Sasquatches and Giants
Under a ridge on the southeast face of Mt. Shann (north of Strawberry in West Elizabeth), you can find a unique skeleton. These Giant Remains count as one of the Points of Interest that Arthur can mark in his journal.
You can find what may be a relative of this large and mysterious man living in a cave in the northern mountains of the Grizzlies East in Ambarino.
While some are saying he’s just a friendly giant and others are claiming he’s the Sasquatch himself, neither have been confirmed for certain one way or another.
In order to initiate conversation with this unseen friend, the consensus seems to be that you’ll need to study 30 different species of animals (excluding horses and fish), then find and follow a specific flock of birds near Calumet Ravine.
More information will be added soon!
