It’s only been out a day, but players have already been discovering Easter Eggs inside From Software’s new adventure, Déraciné – and one in particular has got some fans excited that Bloodborne 2 might be on the way.
As discovered by Amazing Komaru (via Fextra Life), a doll can be found in the new VR game, which makes a gesture known to Bloodborne players as “Make Contact” – the same gesture used by Bloodborne character, The Doll.
More pointedly, when inspected, Déraciné’s doll’s description reads: “A doll of the stone girl Fiona who appears in the unfinished tale. When a person has a bad dream, Fiona appears and helps them flee.”
That reference to an “unfinished tale” is what’s gotten fans talking – if this is a Bloodborne reference, then it implies Hidetaka Miyazaki (who directed both games) might see more for his Lovecraftian creation in the future.
Users on ResetEra have pointed out other references, including a book using the Bloodborne logo font and another doll mentioning an “unfinished tale” alongside “bad dreams”.
We enjoyed Déraciné, awarding it a 7.8 and saying, “FromSoftware’s knack for worldbuilding shines in this contained environment with a delightful cast of characters, intriguing lore, and a beautiful, metaphorical examination of our human desires to see the ones we care about be happy.”
