Stranger Things season 3 doesn’t arrive until July 4, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend the next few months Stranger Things-less. You can always rewatch seasons 1 and 2, but even better, you can play the “Hunt For the Thessalhydra” adventure from the show.

The Stranger Things Dungeons and Dragons starter set uses fifth edition rules to get you and your friends up and running. The box itself is a throwback to the classic red box version of D&D that would have been period-appropriate to the show’s 1980s setting. Inside is a set of dice, rule book, pre-made character sheets, Hunt For The Thessalhydra adventure book, and a pair of Demogorgons.

There’s one pre-painted and one unpainted figure, so if you want to try your hand at painting miniatures, you’re partway there with this set.

The full trailer for Stranger Things season 3 arrived late last month, and shows us a gang growing up, a new mall, plenty of 1980s goodness, and a putrid, screeching nightmare monster from the Upside Down. Season 3 of Stranger Things begins July 4, 2019.

On the D&D side of the Stranger Things D&D starter set, Wizards of the Coast just announced its 2019 reveal event called “D&D Live: The Descent,” the follow-up to last year’s Stream of Many Eyes.
