We want your help documenting 2018’s biggest open worlds. We’ve been working for weeks on Fallout 76 and Red Dead Redemption 2, but we can’t possibly find everything. That’s why we’re giving out some very rare prizes to people who can help us make the best guides out there even better.
Whether you’re a curious reader who would like to start contributing or a seasoned wiki veteran, this is the perfect time to delve into Red Dead Redemption 2 and/or Fallout 76 and fill it with all the info about the game you know. Tips, tricks, descriptions, stats, map points, secrets — detailed pages about all that good stuff is exactly what we need. Did we mention that you could win some awesome prizes and become a key part of this awesome community!?
How to Enter
You’ll need to sign up for an IGN account to edit wikis. After that, comment on this page with the #Contest tag to enter officially. After you are entered, dedicate some time and edits to the Red Dead Redemption 2 and/or Fallout 76 wikis by either adding content or making corrections to new and existing wiki pages within. Provide in-depth details to short pages, create new pages to add more content, insert images and videos, turn key words into a wiki link — all of these things help!
Maybe you don’t know everything there is to know, but if you know your way around a wiki or seethe in anger whenever you see “your” used instead of “you’re” you have an important role in this, too!
From November 15 at 12:01 AM PT to December 5 at 12:01 AM PT.
Two top contributors (based on quality and quantity of edits) will receive the following:
First Place Winner
Winner’s choice of the following: one (1) copy of the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition for PlayStation 4, valued at approximately two-hundred dollars ($200.00); or one (1) copy of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector’s Box, valued at approximately one-hundred dollars ($100.00).
Second Place Winner
One (1) copy of Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition for PlayStation 4, valued at approximately two-hundred dollars ($200.00); or one (1) copy of The Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector’s Box, valued at approximately one-hundred dollars ($100.00); whichever version was not selected by the First Place Winner.
To qualify for a prize, you must make at least 20 helpful, legitimate edits (no funny business!).
There will be two (2) winners in all. The overall #1 contributor will have first pick of the two editions. The second top contributor will be given the other remaining collector’s edition.
How will edits be counted?
You can make as many edits as you want, but only really helpful and legitimate edits will be counted. Either way, our Wiki editors and moderators will be tracking all activity on those wikis so show your best work!
Judging Criteria For Edits
We will keep track of both quantity and quality of your edits made throughout the course of the contest.
Contributions to the wiki by an individual contributor will be measured using the following criteria:
- 30% Importance/Relevance – Does the contribution fulfill a request from the Contributor Challenge, or fulfill reader needs?
- 50% Depth – Is the contribution minor, or complete?
- 20% Quality – Does the contribution require heavy copy-editing or is it well-written and -formatted?
