Uncanny X-Men’s upcoming story arc titled “Disassembled” promises to bring destruction to every mutant. The title hearkens back to the popular Avengers Disassembled arc that killed off iconic members of that superhero team and paved the way for a drastically new take on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. It’s safe to say that Marvel will be aiming for something similar with the X-Men.
As revealed via Marvel Comics, the returning Uncanny X-Men series will kick off with a 10-issue arc that starts this November and will see every mutant on Earth banding together to stop a threat to their very existence. Teased a tale filled with “mystery and tragic disappearance,” Marvel promises not every mutant will make it out of alive.
Rather than a single writer/artist team, many creator names are attached to this series. Ed Brisson (Extermination), Kelly Thompson (Mr. & Mrs. X) and Matthew Rosenberg (The Punisher, Phoenix Resurrection) will be writing Uncanny X-Men. Mahmud Asrar (X-Men Red), R.B. Silva (X-Men Blue), Yildiray Cinar (Weapon X) and Pere Pérez (Rogue and Gambit) will be handling the art.
