Yu-Gi-Oh! protagonist Yugi Muto is joining Jump Force’s roster, publisher Bandai Namco announced. The crossover marks the sixth manga universe to have a character added to the 2019 fighting game’s roster.
Bandai Namco elected not to reveal anything about what Yugi Muto’s in-game move set will be like, saying only that fans will have to stay tuned for more details at a later date.
For the uninitiated, Yu-Gi-Oh’s backstory involves a boy who loves to play a card game called Duel Monsters that’s a central part of the manga’s world. When Yugi Muto solves an ancient puzzle, he’s inhabited by the spirit of the long-dead Pharoh Atem, allowing Yugi Muto to transform into Dark Yugi in his hour of need and become an elite Duel Monsters player.
Yugi Muto was one of 21 characters IGN wanted to see added to Jump Force following its E3 announcement. he joins a trio of Bleach characters that were added to the roster in July.
