15+ people who realized life is too short to waste on jobs they don’t like

15+ people who have realized that life is too short to be spent on a job they don't like

There are alot of people out there who are thinking about changing their profession, but at the same time are doing a job that they don’t like day after day.

The fear of starting everything all over again or making a mistake and the pressure of our fellow human beings discourage even those who have a high chance of being successful in a new field. Fortunately, there are courageous people who find enough strength to leave the work they are tired of despite everything and do what they really like.

My stepfather was a normal man. He worked in the tailoring of hats and drove for a cab service. One day he found painting in his house and started to paint modernist paintings. Do you still think it is too late to do what you want?

My ex-girlfriend taught courses in nail service. Once I got interested and thought why I couldn’t learn to do these things too. That’s how it all started. I got a certificate, and now I do nails in a beauty salon, and it worked out quite well.

I was born and grew up living in a small village. After somehow completing my education, I started working as a cashier. As funny as it sounds, it was the pension reform that made me change my life. I realized that I had to work much longer.

So why not start doing what I really liked – programming? I started doing online exercises, reading books and watching videos. I spent all my free time doing them, which was very scarce because I had to work and I also had a little girl.

When I started looking for a new job, I kept getting rejections – one after another. I almost gave up and started thinking: “Who needs a 30-year-old woman – as a beginner programmer?”. At some point, I found out that my resume was written wrong.

When I fixed the problem, companies called me for interviews themselves. Now it’s three months since I started as a programmer and I’m enjoying my new job immensely. The main thing is that when I go to work in the morning, I don’t think about how tired I am from it. I am cheerful!

Once I worked both as a warehouse manager and as a wholesaler at a market. I used to work seven-days a week – even if I had an official day off, I still had to come to work to receive the goods. My salary was low, but I had a lot of responsibility.

Once my boyfriend asked me if I wanted to become a masseur (I could already do classical massages because I had completed special courses in my youth).

So I thought: “Why not?” Now I work as a massage-therapist and help people to recover after a stroke.

It’s a beautiful feeling when something like an arm or leg that hasn’t worked properly for a very long time comes back to life. I cannot express it in words!
