A new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been released, bringing with it changes to spawns on Piccadilly, more accurate footstep sounds, and adjustments to four weapons. As detailed by Infinity Ward on Reddit, the unspecified adjustments to Piccadilly’s spawns will be applied to TDM and Domination. Additionally, Domination’s B flag on the map has been moved “near the busses instead of the center fountain.”
Footstep noise while crouched or aiming down sights (ADS) has been corrected as well. Infinity Ward co-design director of multiplayer Joe Cecot elaborated on this change in the Reddit thread:
We have different sounds for crouch walk, walk, jog, sprint, etc. Before this patch ADS used walk and crouch used crouch. If the player moved faster than a certain speed the ADS walk could change to a jog sound. The same was true for crouch where moving fast in crouch with say an SMG and some light weight attachments could push you into walk sounds from crouch sounds. With this patch the Crouch will always play crouch sounds (creep sounds) and ADS will also play creep sounds. In this way it’s consistent for the user.
Two fan-favorite weapons have once again been nerfed: the M4A1 assault rifle (increased hip spread, decreased headshot damage) and 725 shotgun (reduced range). Both weapons were previously nerfed in the 1.07 update. The EBR-14 marksman rifle and FAL assault rifle, meanwhile, were buffed with increased ADS speed (and reduced recoil for the latter).
Beyond that, the update fixes the sync issue with challenges and adds “backend fixes to prevent crashes and improve stability across all modes and all platforms.”
