Thought that reading the acclaimed Infinity Gauntlet storyline would clue you in to what to expect from Avengers: Infinity War? Well, based on these comments from Mark Ruffalo, you’d best think again…
Asked in an on-set interview if there were any specific comic books he read to help prepare for the movie, Mark Ruffalo explained that there weren’t really any which would have helped the cast much.
“This one we’re like, in new territory really. And it’s so different from the comic books. There’s elements that are clearly the same but when you really start to get into the story everything changes. Planet Hulk was a big influence for Thor 3, and the idea, the inkling of World War Hulk starts to… I read (that) way before doing this and there’s some interesting stuff in there, but honestly nothing so far directly related to this.” So, there go those Avengers: World War Hulk theories!
As for whether or not Ruffalo actually sat down to read Infinity Gauntlet, Ruffalo added: “Yeah, that is informative as well, but then again it just gets so… off of that topic that it starts to become a little confusing where you’re like “Why isn’t this in there? Why are we doing this?” What do you think of these remarks? As always, feel free to weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section below.
