SEGA is bringing the first Valkyria Chronicles game to Nintendo Switch.
The company shared the news during its annual SEGA FES event in Japan, and relayed the information in a post on Twitter. The game will be released for Switch in Japan this fall on the eShop. The Switch version will include all of the DLC, just like the remastered version for PS4, Gematsu reports.
There’s currently no word on when/if the first Valkyria Chronicles will be released for Switch outside of Japan.
SEGA also announced the Switch version of Valkyria Chronicles 4 has been delayed in Japan. Instead of launching this summer, the game will be released in Japan sometime this fall. Those who purchase Valkyria Chronicles 4 on Switch will get a “Reduced Price Purchase Coupon Download Code” to buy the first Valkyria Chronicles on Switch for 500 yen.
For those in North America and Europe, Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch this fall.
The original Valkyria Chronicles was released for PlayStation 3 in 2008. A PC version followed in 2014 and a remastered version was released for PS4 in 2016. Read IGN’s Valkyria Chronicles Remastered review for our thoughts on the “beautifully crafted and original tactical RPG.”
